Opportunity to serve:
The City of Townsend would like to announce an opportunity for residents to express their interest in becoming a member of a Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The Parks and Recreation Board meets monthly to promote community involvement and organize events to support a fun and healthy atmosphere in Townsend. The Board is also involved in drafting a Parks and Recreation Master Plan, to correspond with the City’s Community Master Plan. Board members will also research grant opportunities available to improve the town’s resources and structures.
The Board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6 PM, with occasional workshops scheduled as needed. There will be three (3) seats open for anyone interested in serving on the board. Two seats will need to reside within the city limits, with the third seat open to anyone living within the Townsend 37882 area code. All seats will have terms expiring in August 2026.
